Where you're headed, and who's coming along
The other half of what a dock does: everyone knows who's going out, where, and when they're due back. DockNeighbor is building the trip side of that — planning on real depth data, float plans your Dock can see, and a position your people can follow.

Plan on real depth data In development
A route is only as good as what's under it. The trip planner works from depth tiles and a compiled routing graph — including dredged-channel lanes — so a planned passage respects the water you actually draw.
- Depth-aware routing: plot a passage against real soundings rather than a straight line on a chart image.
- Channel lanes: dredged channels are part of the graph, not something you eyeball around.
- Your draft matters: plan for the boat you have.
File a float plan with your Dock In development
A float plan is the oldest safety practice on the water and the one most often skipped, because telling somebody is a chore. When your Dock is already in the app, it stops being one.
- Who, where, when back: the plan goes to the neighbors you choose — not to a public feed.
- Overdue is a signal: the value of a float plan is somebody noticing you didn't come back.
- It's the same list: the neighbors who get your alarms are the neighbors who get your float plan.
Let them follow along In development
Share the boat's position with the people you pick — family following a passage, a partner meeting you at the ramp. Friends who accept get position updates and a live where-is-it-now view.
- On every plan, including Dockside: following along is not something we intend to sell back to you.
- You pick the people: position goes to accepted friends, and you choose which alerts and sharing each one gets.
- A public option is planned for Voyager: the Vessel Status Site, a page anyone can look up — separate, opt-in, and not live yet.

Voyage history keeps your tracks and passages as data you can revisit and export —3 years of it on Voyager.
- Tracks and passages: where you actually went, kept rather than forgotten.
