A sensor can tell you something is wrong. A neighbor can do something about it. This is what DockNeighbor watches, and how what it finds reaches the people who are close enough to help.
An alarm goes to your Dock, not just your phone
Every other monitoring product ends the story at your notification. Yours is the phone furthest from the boat. So DockNeighbor sends the alarm to the neighbors you have picked as well.
- You choose who: friends you have added, and only the ones you mark as notifiable. Nobody sees your boat because they happen to share a marina.
- It works on the free plan: Dockside carries 10 friends and fans an alarm out to one of them. Every paid plan reaches up to five.
- They see what matters: what tripped, when, and where the boat is — not your account, your billing, or your other boats.
- Crew sharing is the deeper kind: share the boat itself with up to 3 people on Weekender, with three roles — full admin, monitor and control, or view-only. Your neighbor can check on the boat without being able to open the water.
Water where it shouldn't be
High water is the failure every boat eventually meets — rain past a failed cover, a weeping stuffing box, a pump that quietly lost the battle. The alert is on your phone the second water shows up.
- Nothing in the way: each sensor reports straight to DockNeighbor — no vendor hub in the middle to be the weak link, no third-party cloud to go down at the wrong moment.
- Free on every plan: bilge and flood alarm delivery is immediate on Dockside and always will be. Alarms are never behind the paywall.
- On city water, it acts: a dock hose is unlimited pressurized water one fitting away. On a paid plan with a LinkTap valve, a flood alarm closes the valve automatically — locally on your network, and from the cloud when you're away.
- Real-time flow metering: see how many gallons are moving through your plumbing, and set a ceiling so a runaway line shuts itself off.
Still where you left it
DockNeighbor watches where the boat is, whether it has moved, and whether anyone is aboard — using the GPS already in your cellular gateway, so there's no extra hardware to buy.
- Anchor alarm, free on every plan: set a swing radius and you hear about a drag — in the app aboard, and from the cloud with the app closed. Your neighbors hear about it too.
- Theft security zone: draw a geofence around the slip or the yard. If the boat leaves it, you know. (Weekender and up.)
- Presence modes: tell DockNeighbor whether the boat is Aboard or Unattended, and alerting changes with it — movement that's normal at the dock becomes worth waking someone for when nobody's there.
- Cameras — coming to Voyager: motion becomes a security alert alongside everything else, up to 4. Live view and playback stay in the camera's own app. Not live yet; included on Voyager the day it ships.
Power, shore power, and cold
A dead battery is a dead bilge pump. Lose the 12V system and you lose the pump, the fridge, and your safety electronics — usually without anyone noticing until it matters.

- Instant aboard: on the boat's own Wi-Fi, readings and taps are immediate — internet optional.
- Seamless away: step off the dock and the app follows you, with the same view of the boat.
- The marina Wi-Fi dying doesn't take your alarms with it.
History that tells the story
A single reading says "fine." A week of readings says "your charger is slowly losing the battle."
